This week we talked about Christmas. We read "Dad Christmas and Hanukkah Mama," by Selina Alko and "Christmas is here!" by Ellen Weiss. The children worked so hard to make your holiday gifts. We hope you enjoyed them.

The children created tree ornaments out of Popsicle sticks. They also made 3-D Christmas trees by tracing and cutting two tree templates. The children then decorated them with sequins, glitter, and buttons. Finally we cut them down the middle and slid one tree onto another. Voila, a fabulous tree!

We also worked on our Handwriting Without Tears book. So far we have learned 13 of the alphabet letters: L, E, F, H, T, I, U, C, O, Q, G, S, and J. The children are also working on learning the letter sounds.
In music class this week we practiced singing our holiday songs, such as: "Jingle Bells, "I have a Little Dreidel," and "We wish you a Merry Christmas." They practiced the violin positions and playing the piano. I am also learning how to play the piano. The children will probably learn how to play before I do.

We look forward to seeing all of you on Wednesday, December 23rd at 9:15 for a little classroom holiday party.
Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Barbara
