This week we worked on our math skills. We introduced our unit by reading: One, Two, Three Teddy Bears, by Ann and Mike Ricketts, and Ten Hungry Rabbits, by Anita Lobel. We then made counting books. We practiced counting and writing our numbers from 1 - 10.
Our letter of the week was "D." We practiced writing it and then came up with a list of "D" words such as: Dog, dot, Denise, Deb, Daniel, dig and duck. We even made the letter out of play dough.
The children had a great time in music class with Lisa. They learned how to make rhythms with Popsicle sticks and sang "Hickory Dickory Dock," "Ring Around the Rosy," "Cucu Where are You?", and "Michael Finnegan. Yuting (piano teacher) taught the children the names of the piano keys and also taught them the name of our body parts, in Mandarin.
We finished our week by making ice cream. The reason we had an ice cream party this week was because we filled the Gem Jar. Ask you child about it. I am not sure which was more fun, eating the ice cream or making it.
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Barbara
